Absolute Acoustics were contracted to install Sonapray © K-13 Special spray-on acoustic treatment for an office in Grand Canal Dock to improve office acoustics. It was an ambitious project, in which Airbnb designed a large modern office in an abandoned warehouse. The Airbnb environments team in collaboration with a Dublin based architect came up with an original design from scratch.
The design laid down criteria to create an environment that was easy & pleasant to work in, which facilitated easy communication throughout the departments. The brief included a requirement for an excellent office acoustics, critical in making this possible. Because of this, reducing reverb and echo was the main focus of the acoustic treatment.
Absolute Acoustics arrived on site having been contracted in at the early stages of the job. The team applied the acoustic treatment early in the development process, before services when in, on an aluminum soffit. Sonaspray K-13 special was applied in a grey color, which complimented the existing aluminum beams very well aesthetically. The spraying team worked closely with the site foreman throughout the process.
Result of work on office acoustics
The result sounded fantastic. The Absolute Acoustics team successfully created the office acoustics required. The team reduced reverb times to satisfactory levels as outlined in the design. The Sonaspray blended in very nicely, and created a wonderful atmosphere to work in. The clients were very happy, and result is there to see.
